Admission 2009-2010
>> General
  • The Intake of students for first year of M.Sc. (ICT): 2009-10 is: 60 .
  • 2 supernumerary (additional) seats will be allotted in sports quota.
  • 3 supernumerary (additional) seats will be allotted in NRI quota.
  • The selection process for granting admission to the candidate will be based purely on merit. The aggregate marks awarded to the candidate in his/her respective degree will be taken into account for merit list preparation. In case there are more than one candidates having equal aggregate marks at graduation, the order of preference to break the tie shall be (1) HSC aggregate marks (2) SSC aggregate marks.
>> Eligibility
  • A Candidate who has passed one of the following degree examinations and secured 50% or more aggregate marks
    • B.Sc.[Computer Science]
    • B.C.A
    • B.Sc.[I.T]
    • B.Sc.[Information Science]
    • B.Sc.[CA & IT]
    • B Sc( CA)
    • B.E [Computer/IT]
  • Note 1: Candidates having other equivalent degrees in IT/Computer may be considered eligible, if it satisfies equivalence criteria
  • Note 2: Candidates who have appeared for their degree examination and result is awaited, may also apply.
>> Seat Reservation/allotment.
  • Reservation for SC / ST / SEBC / PH/ SPORTS candidates will be as per University rules.
  • Allotment of the seats and admissions to the students of Universities other than Veer Narmad South Gujarat University , Surat will be as per Veer Narmad South Gujarat University rules.
  • Detailed allocation of seats for pass outs of different degrees, categories etc will be announced at the time of announcement of the merit list.
>> Course Cost
  • The fees per annum will be Rs.30000. The students may be allowed to pay the fees semester-wise i.e Rs 15000 semester.
  • The fees per annum will be USD$ 2500 for NRI students.
>> Instruction for filling in Application Form.
  • All the particulars must be given in capital letters and in legible and hand writing.
  • Affix your recent passport size photograph at the place provided in the application form.
  • Candidates applying for sport quota seat, are required to fill up sports achievement sheet available from the office and submit along with the application form.
  • Attach certified true copies of following testimonials along with the application form:
    • Graduate examination mark sheet.
    • HSC/Equivalent examination mark sheet
    • SSC/Equivalent mark sheet.
    • Cast certificate & Non-creamy layer certificate for current year (f or SEBC Candidates).
    • Cast certificate (for SC/ST Candidates).
    • Civil Surgeon's Certificate (for Physically Handicapped Candidates).
    • Sports certificates ( if applicable)

>> Submitting Application Form.
  • The duly completed application form along with testimonials may be submitted by hand delivery ( during working days between 11.00 AM to 5.00 PM ). on or before the last date at :

  • Application forms may also be submitted by registered post so as to reach on or before the prescribed last date of receiving forms.
  • Application form downloaded from website may be submitted at the above address by hand delivery along with necessary testimonials and cash of Rs 200 or by registered post along with necessary testimonials and DD of Rs. 200, drawn in favour of " M.Sc. (I.T.) Programme Fund " , payable at Surat . Forms submitted through post must reach us on or before prescribed last date of submission.
  • Acknowledgment slip will be given to you on submission of the application form, which must be carefully preserved and it must be produced at the time of admission. Those who have submitted form through post may collect their acknowledgement slip from the office on the date of merit list announcement or they may receive it by post by enclosing self addressed envelop with stamp of Rs 5 along with the application form.

  • The merit list will be displayed at the J P Dawer Institute of Information Science & Technology, M.Sc. I.T. Programme Building ", Near V C Bungalow, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University campus, Udhna - Magdalla Road , Surat : 395007 and also on the web site www.sguit.org as per the schedule mentioned. Detailed admission counseling schedule will also be displayed along with announcement of the merit list.
  • Candidates are requested to carefully note down their merit number and schedule of admission displayed at the notice board of the institute and also on the website www.sguit.org
  • Candidates may please note that no call letters or personal intimations will be sent to individual candidates regarding their merit number, Admission Schedule, etc. lt will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to know the merit number from the merit list announced and remain present for the admission on the respective day and time along with the necessary fees and testimonials.
  • Candidates who fail to report or remain absent for admission at the date and time declared for his / her admission will loose the right for admission and his/her seat will be offered to the next candidate in the merit. Absent candidates will not be registered in waiting list.
  • Candidates will be required to submit their Original Graduation Mark Sheet at the time of admission.
  • A student being offered admission will have to pay Rs. 1000 as an Advance Fees at the time of admission counseling. The balance fees Rs 14000 will have to be paid within 3 working days from the date of the admission. The Advance Fees (i.e. Rs. 1,000) paid will be forfeited if remaining fees is not paid within the prescribed time.
  • Additional fees of Rs. 170 per semester towards sports complex fees, Uni. Development fees, student gymkhana fees, placement fees and Rs. 30 as one-time identity card fees shall be collected separately.
  • Inability to pay the fees will result in bypassing the candidate for admission.
  • Fee refund rules prescribed by University will be applicable.
  • It may please be noted that ragging is strictly prohibited in the institute campus.
