
M.Sc. (IT) is a unique 5 year integrated course started and run by Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat in 2000. This five year programme in information technology combines various facets of computer applications, electronics & communication and business systems.
By the end of the programme students gain the high level of expertise in both software and hardware areas of IT. The course has contributed exceptional IT professionals who are doing extremely well in all the areas of IT. M.Sc. (IT) is the first programme of its kind which admits students who have passed higher secondary examination.
This course structure follows semester system and allows the students to complete their post graduation in five years (10 semesters).

Industrial Tours- The department arranges industrial tours as per the need. It helps the students to learn about the implementation of the acquired knowledge in this stream
In M Sc (IT) course: students have to work on real world projects preferably in industries during semester 6, 7, 8 and 9. Also in the last semester i.e 10th semester, it is required that students undergo training in the business organization for the duration of 6 months. A presentation of the experience related to the training is to be given by the student along with the submission of report on completion of the training.
Throughout the program, student achievement will be carefully monitored and students will be given regular feedback of their progress. Assessment comprises a mixture of course work examinations and projects. External examinations are conducted by the University and obtaining 40% marks is a minimum requirement to pass a subject.
